Mass to FLA via route 78-81-77

Hi Capeman,

Heres how i go south, Either in the Truck with camper and trailer or on the motorcycle. I come down from New Hampshire.
Anyways, here goes. I take the Mass pike to A) Rt 84 all the way to Penn, or B)Mass Pike to 87 in NY down to 84. Either way they can be tough. 84 to Penn and as soon as you cross the state line get off and take 209 through the Water Gap. Go all the way to Rt 80 N for about 10 miles and then take 33 to 22 to 78 to 81 south. This avoids the big mountains on 81.
In Virginia 17 is a nice option to go from Winchester to Fredricksburg to pick up 95. Further south in Virginia is 68, where the Skyline and BlueRidge meet. This can take you down to Richmond. Just go around Richmond to 95 as its a busy city.
So, mass pike to 84 to 209 to 80 to 33 to 22 to 78 to 81.
77 is not bad but takes you through Charlotte NC which can be busy too. I dont think there is any one way that is perfect. All our roads suck and traffic is everywhere.
