I was doing good following your statement until here! One can get single tires that are good to over 10K ea. IE what class 8 tractors are using on the rear tandems and trailers! I can setup a single wheel rig with 19.5" tires and have over 10 close to 11K on two tires! If one is going to change add leaves etc to the spring pack, might as well look at upgrading the tires too! Duals are NOT the end all be all of towing or carry capacity. The ONLY reason for duals is the human factor. Other wise, singles that have the same payload capacity as 4 singles, will 9 out of 10 times out perform duals, from stopping, mpg traction etc.
