2500 payloads vary by make, model and trim packages. Load the truck up with a lot of bling and you won't have much left for pin weight.
FWIW our 12 Ram CTD has a payload rating of 2176lbs. Our 5'er has a loaded pin of 17-1800lbs. All hitched up and loaded the rear axle load is 4900lbs, 1100lbs under the RAWR of 6000lbs. GVW of the truck is 9600lbs, we're at 9700lbs. GCVWR is 20,000lbs, were at apr 16,500lbs. Tows fantastic. I would go heavier if needed on the pin by maybe 400lbs and maybe 2000lbs on the GCVWR and be fine with it. But right now it's a blast to tow with this setup.
