The bottom line, Ford is still the best selling pickup.

If these tests included the climbing and downgrade test run for 14 hours, then published fuel used, the measured brake wear after the test, and calculated to $ cost over distance towed - it might mean something to someone spending this kind of $ on a pickup truck.

No wait - "towing" is all about who can cane their truck to the top of the hill the fastest -

Well of course it will be doing it much longer, it's going a lot slower. :B

just kidding. Honestly I would have expected the 450 to be slower, since it likely weighs a lot more than the Ram, and both were pulling well within capacity and equal weight. But I did notice they didn't list rear gears on the 450.

What does Ford use for an exhaust brake? Momentum is easy. Stopping with hot brakes on a descent while loaded is dangerous. With my exhaust brake I've measured my brake pad temps after exciting the freeway after a hill descent. Pads are usually 10deg warmer than ambient temp.

4500 vs 3500 also makes no sense.

I believe Ford and Ram are fine trucks and the one that you pick is the right truck....... As long as it's not a GMC.

I'll consider the Ford when it is still running like new after 300k plus miles with minimal engine work. Until then I'll keep my Ram thanks. Not only do I love it but my entire family does!

And remember this is coming from a guy who owned 3 Fords over the last 20 years including both the 7.3L and 6.0L diesels!

I heard Ford put there F350 against the Chevy Luv. The F350 won. :B
