If Dodge was so great, it would not have the reputation it does, or be the perennial toilet dweller sales-wise.
This is from a former 2 time Dodge truck owner, BTW......
Wouldn't know, never owned a Dodge truck in my life until 2010, before that it was ALL Chevy trucks, from 1975 thru 2010, last three were D/A equipped trucks in LTZ trim, last two dually's...So I guess Ram has come a long way, though only thing I can compare with is a 2010, 2012 and current truck...so if they had been the perennial toilet dwellers that you so eloquently stated, I wouldn't own one based on the newer models...made me a believer..Again, never owned one until 2010, so I'm not your so called, A-typical Dodge "shills" (whatever that is???)...
you did deferr from the name calling, you just stated, "what a bunch of..... nice touch:) - HybridhunterExplorerSo just because the past 3 posters are Dodge shills, anyone who posts otherwise is the same? What a bunch of......Oh never mind.

Don - john_betExplorer IIHere is my opinion--- I have been around or owned Dodge trucks all of my 68 years on this good earth. None of them have ever let me down on the road anywhere and I have been a lot of places. They have always done the job they were suppose to do at anytime. I can not say the same for other brands that I drove for 21 years that I did not own. I am a happy man with what I own. Especially in the 7 weeks between May 24th and July 12th with 7k+ miles of traveling from Indiana to out west over the Rockies twice and the northern Cascades twice. You all have fun battering back and forth. JMHO.
- NC_HaulerExplorer...never mind, you're not worth the effort..your thread, your blather.....Name calling becomes you....

If you got some facts that says otherwise post it for everyone to see. :W
Really? ??????? "The No Spin Zone"????...I find it hard to believe that you and O'Reilly have ANYTHING in common...because IF you do, we have a lot in common and I'm figuring that just isn't so....
One good thing, per you, that Rams are out numbered 10 to 1 ....cool, that's why my truck looks so doggone good and unique...It doesn't look like all the others....I like that, and it really is one great looking truck, inside and out and is a towing beast...I think it's kinda cool that those of us who own a Ram truck are "unique" as opposed to all the many, many, many same Ford looking alike trucks. Won't say anything bad about Chevy, owned WAYYY too many of them, but won't own a Ford...only because Ford has been shoved down our throats since I joined this forum, (and they don't want "MY money)...When I owned Chevy's, all I heard was how much better Ford was, (Dodge/Ram wan't even a part of the equation, then When I went to Dodge/Ram, it wasn't the Chevy guy's that gave the Ram owners all the grief, again, it was the Ford guys...Seriously why is that? Ram guys haven't had much to crow about for a while from what I've seen or read, (no cut on Dodge/Ram owners), but when they get a few accolades awarded to them, it's more the Ford guy's who want to cut on them more than anyone else and make fun of them..I really don't get it...I have nothing against Ford, but so much bitterness, name-calling over TRUCKS? Man, Israel fighting off the mid-east...passenger jet shot down by Commies? and people about to go to war over pick up trucks...guess I just don't get it....
OK... Not sure I have the patience to read all that, but let's just add NC Hauler to the list who brought nothing but a negative view to this thread. :R
Just a reminder this thread was about a towing comparison of two brands...It's very obvious the Dodge Boys motives can't promote a civilized discussion. :S- BedlamModerator

Does the new F-450 also have the 440HP 6.7? If so, then no duh it'll race up the hill slightly faster.
440HP vs. 385HP = 55 HP which a significant difference.
Regardless, I still love my Cummins. I have the 350/650 and it pulls our 5th wheel quite well. So well sometimes that it's easy to speed unless you're watching or set cruise. Something my old half-ton hemi towing much less weight couldn't do unless you dropped it into 2nd gear.
It depends which F450 you are talking about. The pickup version has the hotter tune of the smaller trucks while the chassis cab model is detuned like the larger trucks using the same engine.
Ram also detunes their chassis cabs, so it is not unique to Ford nor is it exclusive to diesels. Both companies detune the gasoline engine in their chassis cabs verses their pickups. - restlesswindExplorer

Yep, a lot going on. It's in the hands of God
So we have no need to worry about it? - FrostbitteExplorerDoes the new F-450 also have the 440HP 6.7? If so, then no duh it'll race up the hill slightly faster.

Whatever. Cummins will bump the power and torque up again for 2015 or likely the 2016 models and even if they don't no biggie. It'll still tow like a train.

In regards to HD trucks -- buy the one you like. Trying to convince others that "your brand" is better is pointless. IMO, they are all very good right now.
Ian,
You should put a pickup after that HD truck part, Otherwise, you might get some smart asset like me, saying a pickup is a light duty truck! no matter the badging or gvwr, as an HD truck is over 55K lbs gvwr! :D is under 13500, 13501-55K is a medium duty twuck!
I do agree with the buy what you want, ALL are better than they used to be. etc etc.
Marty
Yep, Marty you pretty much got that one right....still just light duty trucks...but did you mean to do the Elmer Fudd impersonation by calling it a "twuck" :)
