I have had a Maxxair Fan/Mate Rain Cover for over seven years. I do not think there is a better design made. I leave my inside vent open year round, wind and rain, and never any water inside the TC. I have it mounted over a Surflo fan. The only time I close the cover on the Surflo fan, is in extreme cold. The design of the Maxxair Fan/Mate allows the Surflo to be used to intake or exhaust air. The link shows a black Maxxair Fan/Mate, mine is white.
I chose the SHURflo Comfort Air RV Vent Fan over the Fantastic fan. The Shurflo can be used as a fan with the cover closed. Unless the design has changed, the Fantastic cannot be used with the cover closed. The Surflo is a variable speed fan, not a fixed three speed.
To compliment my Maxxair Fan/Mate Rain Cover, I also installed a Window/Maxx. As advertised, it allows ventilation rain or shine. I almost always leave the window open from 1" to 4", for ventilation. I installed it on my dinning table window. Like the Maxxair Fan/Mate Rain Cover, the Window/Maxx prevents rain from entering the partial opened window, even with side winds. I also installed it over seven years ago.
