Mexico/Central and South America - Truck Camper is best!

I haven't had time to see much of the slide show nor read many of the blog entries. But, so far it looks amazing. It appears to be a circumnavigation of South and Central America with RVs including your truck camper. No doubt all of my questions will be answered when I can read the blog, but I'm wondering about expense, security and the maintenance of your vehicle. It also appears that you did volunteer work in the region.
