"One of the drawers actually had the moth balls AND a dyer sheet. Not only did it NOT deter the mouse from entering the drawer, it went to the bathroom on the dryer sheet AND the mothball." Hilarious! It was almost as if he/she were making a statement.
"So again, just seal up the access points." We don't use dryer sheets, oil, etc, etc, but have painstakingly gone through and sealed what we believe to be all the holes and no mice. We live in the country in a relatively new home and we get mice in the house. Since we park our FW beside the house, I repeatedly go out and check all the cupboards, etc, while it's parked and I have not yet seen sign of a mouse. What I do though is to remove everything food or scent related - spices, including salt and pepper, and all toiletries - soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.
