Michelin LTX M/S

I have a 93 grand cherokee and had these tires on it for several years and no cracking. I replaced them in 2011 at 104,000 miles with the same tire. Still look new at this point with over 30k miles on them.

The other was, the same name company with an "O" in the name, hint, hint. Seemed to me being independently owned the first saw I did buy them there. I don't agree with that customer philosophy but I did get results and so far I am pleased. Just need to take them there on Saturday to get the install and I do have the quote to boot.

75% credit on tires that thane 30,000 miles is not bad.

Michelin will void their warranty if ArmorAll is used...they used to recommend 303
but don't know if they still do

Think about this: sidewalls flex...a lot and dependent on the load vs PSI ratting
factored by MPH...of course on recommended rim width for that tire size

Any crack is a stress raiser on the sidewall...

My Michelin LTX-MS LT265/75R16E's cracked through to leak down totally from 80 PSI
in less than 10 minutes

It just so happens the OEM tires on my Tundra were BF Goodrich and they were cracked at 35K miles. I brought them to a dealer and got some dollars for that warranty as well. Same with the Michelins. I am surprised that the OP dealer won't budge. MFG warranty is just that...MFG warranty...treadware or otherwise.

you could be right I never thought about that When they took the lead out of the hydraulic hoses the shell cracked up really bad in the first few years. That is what the weatherhead rep. told us 10 or 15 years ago.I would gess they have changed the rubber compounds since then.

I have 60,000 miles in 6 years on my Michelin LT 265/75R16 E tires for my duramax .
No cracking .
I swap snow tires and wheels for the winter season so the Michelins are stacked in my garage for 4 months each year on their own wheels .
At 60K they are not to the wear bars yet .
The cracking in the pictures may be exaggerated because Michelin has SMOOTH SIDEWALLS unlike most of the other brands .
The other brands have much " gingerbread " on the sidewalls so as to not show scuffing when being curbed .
One thing I like about the Michelins with the smooth sidewall is that I can apply tire dressing with a very quick swipe .
Applying the dressing to other brand tires takes more care due to the corrugated surface .
