Want to get a set of new tires for our just-acquired 2012 GMC 2500HD. Was thinking of getting Michelin LTX (245/75R17) because we had them on our F250 and I liked them. Bought those 4 or so years ag...

Got lucky today and just had a set of tires installed. Turns out the guy used to own a tire shop for 30 years, races cars and has a big shop at his house and stacks of tires all over. Only a few minutes from us too.
He had a set of new Goodyear Wranglers that I got instead. Balanced and installed for a total of $750 Can (about $500 US), all in, no taxes. Too good to refuse. Not sure it they're the best towing tire but way better than what the truck came with. New tires at a regular shop here were going to be about double that.
