I'm no chemist, no engineer. Shoot, I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night! But, I have to wonder if 90 degree temps 5 or so months of the year and intense sun exposure plays a role in cracking the tires. My truck sits outside 24/7/365. OTOH, the wife's car has a nearly 5 year old set of Cooper tires on it, with not a crack, superficial or otherwise anywhere on the sidewall. The difference is, her car is garage kept. :h
