officially only a few models of each tire brand name for Porsche use . these are rated P1 ,P2 , P3.
Michelin , Continental , Pirelli , Bridgestone , and one other are authorized for installation on porsche cars .
michelin is the largest volume provider in this category
none of this is anecdotal evidence
it is scientific evidence .
the bad thing about michelin is , they charge extra for their higher quality.
regarding cracking i have 3 sets of michelins that are 6 years old ,
none have any cracking . that is anecdotal evidence , btw , for those who do not remember the difference between anecdote and antidote .
I could give a rats behind what Porsche users like. Totally different composition of tire.
