the evidence shows that Michelin makes the best tires
the most expensive tires at each tire store are michelins
michelin makes 2 - 5 different tire lines in most sizes
folks vote with their pocketbooks
increasing michelin sales indicates that folks are willing to pay a premium for the best tires
i belong to the PCA , porsche club
i hang out with guys who have nothing better to do than discuss the quality of their tires.
among the 100+ members it is overwhelmingly espoused that michelins are the best .
i read car magazines all the time.
michelins are always in the top 10% of the ratings.
michelins are often the top tire in each category per car magazine tests.
porsche and audi , of unlimited speed limit origin have their own ratings .
officially only a few models of each tire brand name for Porsche use . these are rated P1 ,P2 , P3.
Michelin , Continental , Pirelli , Bridgestone , and one other are authorized for installation on porsche cars .
michelin is the largest volume provider in this category
none of this is anecdotal evidence
it is scientific evidence .
the bad thing about michelin is , they charge extra for their higher quality.
regarding cracking i have 3 sets of michelins that are 6 years old ,
none have any cracking . that is anecdotal evidence , btw , for those who do not remember the difference between anecdote and antidote .
I could give a rats behind what Porsche users like. Totally different composition of tire.
