To those that like the rats nest:
Wires laced/bundled do not chafe, they vibrate together. Wires that are free that touch anything will chafe if there is just the slightest vibration. Just a muffin fan that is slightly out of balance will create chaffing if wires are loose and touching things.
You would be surprised how quick a thinly insulated wire will chafe through and begin to create intermittent shorts that can drive a tech crazy....
In my life I have seen this on aircraft, cars, computer hardware etc....
High current wires can be bundled, just do not do a bunch of them... They are not running through conduit they are in open air....
