But I have to level with you, I am already living the life of a lottery winner! I have the time, the money (as little as it is) and the equipment to do just what many are dreaming and I am very content. But, that is not really answering the OP’s question, is it?Vapor_Trails wrote:bmanning wrote:Maybe a little, but the "money is no object" clause allows for hotels. ;)Vapor_Trails wrote:
You are a TRUE adventurer if that would be your choice!
I hear you! I think my ratio, if doing a motorcycle excursion, would be 3 nights in the tent to 1 night in a hotel.
Come about Day 4 this 41-year-old body would be quite ready for a hot shower, a true mattress, a steak, a baked potato, and 2 cold beers*.
(*yes I'm a lightweight...)
I would keep my truck and rig, as I already have the motorcycle, alas a BMW GSA, as well as a dirt bike too, Honda CRFX450, to get into those even challenging places as well as a host of other means, Kayaks, Bicycles, climbing gear, on and on. I will continue to base camp and travel the country, but the one thing I would add (if I were to win the lottery) to my inventory is, another truck and pop up camper, appointed, equipped by the likes of; Seldomseensmith, Whazoo, jefe4x4, DJ and msmirnoff. I would pay them handsomely for their consulting, then take that new truck and camper to a friend’s house, in Moab to stage it. So, if and when I was interested in a more Xtreme jefe4X4/Whazoo/Seldomseen TC adventure, I would just stop in and swap out the truck/camper. I will always be a pop up camper, at heart, but unwilling to live full time in one, but for now, I am living part of my fantasy and loving it.
