SoCalDesertRider,
I like your build on the camper but why not go all the way and eliminate propane. Go with diesel stove, heater and water heater. Then a 12VDC fridge, having a bank of batteries and solar along with the 3000 Honda no need for propane. Run a one fuel truck and camper setup.
I didn't think of that, mainly because I don't know anything about diesel powered RV appliances. I know Earth Roamer used them, but that's about all I know. I'm used to propane, it's simple to me.
The things I learn on this forum! Wow what an Incredible Idea. Im glad I waited before upgrading anything.
As for the Original Post though, Im perfectly happy with the trucks I have. If I could change anything the Freightliner would have came with a sleeper, and the 12 valve would be 4whd/ Or both would be 4whd lol, I am happy with the Boondocking land I purchased Northwest of flagstaff, Low enough to miss most of the Ice/ Yet High enough elevation to keep me in the Grass and Junipers. This is a Millionaires Paradise in my eyes. If I played the Lotto and won big, I would Hire someone to watch over my place here in Oklahoma, Someone I can trust to stay at my farm and take care of my animals properly and keep my Main Home safe. I'm too scattered out. I would also purchase Lifetime Licenses to saltwater fish all along the Pacific coast. Some type of License that covers everything all the time. I would be full timing it for a while around Arizona and California/ New Mexico just playing where the sun shines at the time. I would also By a few High end scooters and maybe a Honda Ruckus to haul around on all that extra (flatbed= 24 feet long)I would also retire my only brother who mostly raised me even though he was only 3 years older than me. This is my Millionaire's dream, But I'm going to make it happen in real time. I don't want anything fancy and shiny, I like rugged durability and something tough. I would spend the money seeing new country and Hiking/ fishing/ camping/ ect. I had no Idea I could run most of my appliances on Diesel. Now I have another good use for the 2/ 45 gallon tanks on this truck.
