Those mansions-on-wheels are awesome but IMO make sense for such a limited scope of use; having said that, if one's thing is to spend months at a time in one location before moving on then they are probably perfection.
To me the attractive thing about TC's (and compact C's) is their usefulness for tailgating, 1-night road trips to concerts/festivals/etc., having a base camp at the beach, etc. As amazing as those class 8 truck-based machines are, I couldn't imagine taking it out on a whim! It probably takes 2 days of planning to get the thing ready to hit the road!
