So? And the campgrounds I visit and the highways I drive have lots of half tons towing. Some should have more truck but that’s what I see. All the Tahoes and Expeditions and most Suburbans (almost never see a 3/4 these days) are half tons and they are towing.
You're looking at a skewed population. Most people don't camp, so all those folks with F150's that aren't camping or towing, aren't there to be counted in your analysis. Despite camping growing in popularity, we're still a minority. Only 9% of the US population owns an RV. And of those a smaller percentage own an RV that's towed with an F150.
