Mounting PUGS

I've seen people apply Velcro to rain gutter above door. Do you use any extra adhesive or just what is on Velcro strip?
  • I had also heard to always have the silver side up, too. We do, though, put the green side up when it's not hot out, because I feel like it doesn't really make a difference, and the green looks so nice on our trailer that has green labels :)
  • Talked with Bob on Thursday while ordering PUG's for our new 233S. He is attaching Velcro to ours. This will be our 4th set. They work really well. He did clarify a PUG myth. He states to always leave the shiney side up. Flipping them over he says does not retain heat in the winter. I told him that's what I had been doing for 10'years because I had read it on one of the forums when we had our Fleetwood Avalon PUP. It made sense. Bob is a great guy with a great product. It's awesome to support small business that makes things in America.

    Have a great night.

What the heck is a PUG, besides a dog?

    Gotcha, thanks.
  • We also just used clamps. Bought a mountain of them on sale at Harbor Freight. Multi use gadgets.

i bought my PUGs used but you can order PUGs with velcro sewn on, just ask Bob there to have it done.

from what i've read, many have Bob sew on one side of the velcro and then they attach the other side to the upper part of the bunk door frame.
some newer hybrids no longer have the rain gutter above the bunk door.

I use the supplied clamps, Put two as far as I can on the gutter and make sure the material is over the gutter and is tight across. Then I put the clamps every foot or so.

This is what we do as well, but we purchased better clamps then the ones supplied at Home Depot.
