Well, call me shocked at the results - Ford can't be happiest to be slowest and thirstiest with their new baby.
These results also throw a dose of reality into the famously exaggerated rv.net mpg claim game! :)
The 7-8 mpg I got with the Ram 6.4L Hemi at 21k combined doesn't look too bad now.
I only lost 2mpg average going back to gas towing or empty. I liked the diesels while I had them but I don't miss them. I remember when you bought your 6.4L Hemi Ram. Good luck with your Tacoma TRD search. - HannibalExplorer

Andre and Kent seemed to notice the noise difference in the brand new trucks. 60db is normal conversation level. 75db is shop vac level.
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!
If you are talking about my 98 12V I would agree.
One break coming up.

You are still living in the past. I had a bombed 2001.5 24V for 14 years and know what a noisy diesel truck sounds like.
Chris
The post in the link points out that the 12v Cummins produced 72db at 60mph towing his boat. The newest Cummins produced 71db at 70mph towing the gooseneck in the test. Not much difference in real volume but a huge difference in perceived volume with the clatter gone. You can quiet the clatter but, you can't quiet the low frequency noise. To those who talk at 140db, the new one is silent. To them, the 12v and ISBe 24v wasn't objectionably loud either. They probably don't even hear the 250hz drone. I deal with this at work with low frequency noise resonating through concrete buildings keeping people awake. Half the people can't even hear it. To those who can, it's loud and annoying. I can hear it so I can identify the problem and fix it. Chrysler has been trying for years with vibration dampeners in their trucks. - tinner12002ExplorerI've never thought about it but haven't had any noise issues to the point I had to yell or talk loud, I'd say if you do then you need to put tranny in the next gear, that should help. And yes I've hand calculated and compared with comp and there is less than 3 tenths difference so I don't check it anymore other than what the comp is showing. Also I'm surprised at the video to the fact that Ford was supplying a 3500, usually they want to use their 4500 when comparing to Ram and GM 3500s.

The ecodiesel is extremely smooth and quiet for a diesel (since it was meant to be in a Cadillac initially). I test drove all the big 3's HD trucks before getting the Cummins. None of them seemed significantly loud, even being used to my half-ton diesel. Noise levels is a non-issue for any of the current generation HDs, they're a all nice to be in.

Children, children, you folks argue too much. When it comes to noise mine is quieter then anything you own especially since I got the rubber coating on the steel wheels. Just a nice romantic, rhythmic clip clop, clip clop, clip clop, clip clop.
A very nice relaxing 20-30db until the ol' mule breaks wind! :B - HannibalExplorerhttp://www.industrialnoisecontrol.com/comparative-noise-examples.htm
Some folks talk loud. I know a few people like that. I like quiet. The Ford would suit me better in that regard.
