Bringing this back from the dead...
Ended up finding the bolt and using the manual crank for a few trips...until the bolt broke off. I welded it back on but it was never the same and broke off again (could be my amateur welding skills). Spoke with Starcraft regarding the manual winch mechanism and they did say that it was never meant for permanent usage...only in dire situations. In other words don't count on it and get your winch fixed.
Anyway, they don't make that winch anymore and I found the newer model that CareFree of Colorado was recommending. I installed that and everything is great. Installation was a breeze.
If anyone wants details on the winch replacement just let me know. I didn't want to post all of that here and bore everyone until I hear otherwise.
