Sorry about your loss....
Getting a little off topic I have a hypatheticle question....If the insurance company totals it can I come along and buy the TTas is with a salvage title?
If someone who is handy and did do this it seems like they could get a TT for pennys on the dollar then fix it up (like flooded home owners do all the time) then they would have a "new" TT .....I know flood damage is always bad but in this case it only seems like the bottom foot only got wet.
I did this once to a camper that had about a foot of water in it for less than 24 hours. I slit all the plastic on on the bottom and removes the insulation, removed all the flooring, cut all the wall board off at chair rail height and ran dehumidifiers and fans in it for 2 weeks. Put up bead board and chair rail on the walls laid new floor, removed the furnace and cleaned it, put new insulation under it and then used the camper with no issues for three years. It functioned flawlessly and I had less than $3000 in a 2 year old 30+ foot Dutchmen with a slide.
It did help that my dad had a smoke and water restoration business so I'll he equipment and fans were available for use. It honestly only took about 4 hours to get it stripped down and a few Saturdays to put back together. It also helped that we were waiting on the water to record and had it pulled out and stripped down within a few hours.
