My Cummins finally needs a repair :( - fixed!
Well, I can no longer say my 5.9L Cummins has never had a wrench to it.
~110,000 miles and over 5200 hours (lots of idle time before I got it), and I just noticed coolant on my garage floor. Coming from the front of the engine, there is a spot of wetness about 10" in diameter. Looks like I'm joining the water pump replacement group.
Oh well, they all break eventually.
On a positive note, my new 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is scheduled for a late December or early January delivery. :)
Since I've had the truck, I've replaced/repaired:
- pretty much the whole front end - tie rods & drag link - upgraded to the 2009 4500/5500 assembly, ball joints (all warranty)
- steering box - cash out of pocket
- some wire fixes in the rear doors - did these myself
- front drive shaft (warranty)
and that's it. Not bad service out of it so far.
