Thank you everyone for the nice comments.
Garryk6 - The inverter charger cost me about $700 with remote, replaced the original intellitec battery solenoid with a cole hersee solid state latching relay ($140), batteries were about $1200, 40 foot of marine grade 2/0 battery cable cost me about $200, miscellaneous connectors and fuses were about $100, the two solar panels cost me $350, and the Rogue controller was about $350 shipped. I also just bought another 60 feet of 6 awg marine grade cable to wire up the solar system and that cost me about $70 plus another $10 for crimp on cable connectors. I'm sure i'll spend at least another $150 in miscellaneous piping, silicone, water proof junction box, switches, etc to finish the solar. So, between the camper mounted inverter, the battery bank, and the yet to be installed solar system, I have about $3300 in it (with me doing the labor).
As far as deciding which components to use, I just read a lot of forums to see what everyone else was doing and figured out what features I wanted and then searched for products that met those needs / wants and worked within my budget (actually, I blew my budget).
