Yesterday if was -18F here in Baraboo, Wisconsin. We just joke that at least we don't live in Minnesota where it got down to--oh wait, we were colder than them.

Brings back a memory.
Here in CO, winter and temp was 22f. OK, not really that cold but was informed by work to get myself and a co-worker, out to St. Cloud, MN, pronto. This was a last minute trip and flight prices were OUTRAGEOUS! It was about $2k per seat which just wasn't going to happen, purely based on principle. So co-worker said, lets rent a car and drive overnight. Fine.
We leave the Denver area.........a few hours later :) we arrive in St. Cloud. Temp reads 22f on the car gauge. Step outside and I immediately want to jump back in the car. It was absolutely shocking how MUCH colder it felt there at the same temp. Yes, we had been driving all night and yes, there was a bit of wind, but the cold just cut right through you. Since that experience, I've had a decent amount of respect for what cold is in different geographies.
Obviously my story wasn't from WI but I've been to WI a fair amount of times and experienced similar regarding the cold. And yes to you neighbors to the north, spent a good amount of time in multiple provinces there too, knowing how cold it can be too! Just gives a better excuse to indulge in some of the local suds. :C
