found a 2016 tacoma limited PU that was a toyota demo with 15,000 miles on it. trying to get a value of it as a used unit but KBB doesn't even list tacomas and another source says it is too new and I will have to talk to them. almost had a new one bought and found out it was sold sat. so out of luck. the demo has 1,000 more goodies on it than the one I wanted and they ended up knocking an extra 2,000 off for 3,000 total off. that is on a unit that lists at about 39000. told them I wasn't interested but if I can get it cheap enough perhaps. Is there any other decent source for pricing a used 2016?thanksbumpy

I really doubt that unit was a demo with that many miles it was a lease or a rental. That is no deal. Walk away. They will discount a brand new one more than that.

39K? Heck, you can buy some really nice 2500s for that.

Do a KBB on 2014 and 2015's. The price difference will give you an idea what a used 2016 is worth.

I do NOT want a full size pickup. the Limited Tacoma has lots of extra bells and whistles. it was supposedly a corporate vehicle, which they drive for X months /miles and then sell. that is a lot of miles for at 2016. I tried pricing a used 2016 and couldn't find a site to do that. they made big changes between 2015 and 2016 so that comparison would not be right. they are discounting it a reasonable amount, especially since they are scarce as hen's teeth. two within a hundred miles. I drove 50 to see this one today.its difficult to get a big discount on something that is hard to find.just scrolled thru the Richmond dealer's stock, about 200 units, 2 tacomas and neither a Limited.looked thru inventory of N richmond dealer and one limited didn't give towing package as an option.bumpy

thanks, picked it up this am. more complicated to run than a 747. :)
the parking assist screen seems great. blind spot sensors work, haven't challenged the rear cross traffic assist yet.

I think you will be happy with that decision. If that "demo" one was truly a Toyota company vehicle, there is a good chance it was actually one of the first saleable vehicles and if not, I am willing to bet it wasn't built yesterday either having that many miles.

I don't care who the manufacturer is, I don't think I would want that early of a new production model unless it was heavily discounted.

Post a picture when you get it. New trucks are always fun!

Edit - and FWIW a Tacoma is what I'd buy in that class truck too. It'll go forever and be worth a lot when you're ready to trade.

When I bought my demo, it was 2.5 years old and had 8K miles on it. Sticker was 33K, and I paid 19K out the door. After all was said and done, my new salesman found out that the warranty had never started, so I had a 3 year and balance of 36K mile bumper to bumper warranty. Cherry on top. So the time might not have started ticking on the warranty, but 15K is double the miles I'd expect to see on a Demo.

While I agree with most things that everyone is saying, you have to remember that we're talking about Toyota here... they seldom offer rebates (substantial ones, anyway), and don't really have to come down on the price because people will buy them regardless. If the OP doesn't buy the used Tacoma at the listed price, someone else will.

Regardless of whether you agree, this is how they operate, and I'd say that they are pretty good at it.
