Again, at this point CA seems to be only state, that require declaration of GCWV and gives door stickers with declared (and paid) weight.

Seems like CA has always been leading way in finding additional ways to take money out of their wallets.
I registered my first truck in '64. '05 was the first year the plate did not have a number on the plate that showed the maximum GCVW I expected to run. (Or often the weight I expected to pay fine above)
The paperwork still says 12,000 for my 1500 Dodge
