New 2017 Lance 825

Greetings. Just got a 2017 Lance 825 to replace the Adventurer 89RB we had. Its quite a bit lighter and more off-road friendly being narrower and shorter in height. Of course you give up some amenities for the smaller size, one propane tank, one battery, smaller water tanks, less height in the bed area.

One thing that really irks me is the slinky storage. I purchased a 10' slink and even trying to compress it as much as possible it doesn't fit into the hose storage. Lance...what were you thinking? Any shorter than 10 feet and it won't reach the sewer hole in campgrounds or disposal sites. It would have been easy to have a longer hose storage mounted under the rear over-hang.

Otherwise, it is a stellar rig. Beautiful decor inside, thoughtful extras like a battery charger connection outside, LED's, neat closet for clothes storage or others (we put a 3 level rack in ours...my Tuxedo won't be making too many trips in this rig). We also swapped out the microwave for a convection microwave since there is no oven (one thing we really appreciated on the 89RB). I told the salesman, "if there ain't no Nachos being made, there ain't no sale being made."

This weekend is the ice breaker trip from Lost Angeles to Tahoe. We'll see how it does and post pictures.

  • Went camping up in Twin Lakes, California area this past weekend. First actually camping trip with the new Lance 825. Had an unexpected visitor.
  • Here are the start of the pics. This was a trip to Tahoe last February.

  • I just purchase a 2017 f250 lariat crew cab 4x4 with a 10,000 axel looking at the 825 lance and the 855s lance i did purchase the torklift suspension and the remote control airbags from firestone any suggestions. I alos like the adventure 86sbs. both dealers said the truck can handle it
  • I love my Lance, but you are correct, the Lance hose storage sucks.

I replied in a post a few years back about the hose storage on my 835 as being wholey inadequate. I got flamed by a few company reps that hang out here, so not all agree the factory solution is short sighted.

Here was my solution (borrowed from another camper member here), it works great. It's the long black pipe under the drivers side camper overhang:

  • We have a 2014, 825 & also are perplexed with their thinking that the sewage hose storage was adequate. :(
I do have a question about replacing ur microwave with the convection/microwave. You still have to be plugged in to shore power or have a generator running to use it....correct?
  • Congrats! The 825 is a fine unit and almost identical to my Laredo. Would love to see some pics.
  • What I do is angle the truck towards the dump station pipe. I carry a 10 foot extra sewer hose but have never used it. My wife is in charge of making sure I back up close to the dump pipe:D
  • Congrats on the camper. Hate to see they are still using the short slinky storage tube. I have one in my 2004 and the having such a short hose was a pain. Finally broke down and mounted a 4' tube under the back of the camper. Much nicer because know it handles the 10' hose with a 45* clear elbow on one end and the small flange.

Another option I had considered was to add about 6" to the end of the factory short slinky as that is about how far it could be extended before hitting the sink. So you may want to consider that as an option.
  • Congrats. We do need the pics to make it official!

You can always add an external hose holder.
  • Congrats on the new rig, as 89rb owner I feel disappointed though for some reason
