Nothing has changed. It has been the same from S/N 001 Duramax 2500HD pickup. Trucks that weighed 7400-7800 pounds and had a 9200 GVWR. Tare weight has got right up with GVWR.
So if believe GVWR is a number you want to honor, then the few hundred more for a 3500 SRW is a good investment.
