OP the pop corn comment was meant as here we go again. Not sure why you were looking at 2500 trucks if you are buying a 15k 5ver. The 14 2500 Ram will tow that but not a GM or Ford. Right tool for the job.
Just don't understand why you made a post about the payload of GM's 2500 truck if it won't tow the trailer your llooking at.

The 2014 2500 Ram has a payload rating to handle a 15K 5th wheel pin weight which would be about 3K+?
The 2500 Ram has a payload of 2,934# to 2,821#. The 3500 SRW is the way to go if you need lots payload. Back when I ordered my truck the only difference in a 2500 and 3500 Ram was the spring pack. The cost to jump into a 3500 SRW was only $250 dollars. If I added bags to my truck or the 3500 springs I could would have the exact same payload or better then the 3500.
Buy just pricing out a 2500 vs 3500 it shows you that there are a lot more differences between them now a days.
The 39.5' five slide Keystone Alpine weighs in at 15,500# with a pin of 2,295#. But if you are looking at fifth wheels in this class you have no business IMO at looking at ANY SRW truck. Not a Ram, not a Ford and not a GM. The OP was just posting a "stir the pot" thread plan and simple.
