Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings are that. Ratings. Why do the manufacturers place GVWR, GAWR, GCWR tags on their vehicles?
Why don't they use the word "Limit". It wouldn't be hard to have a GVWL, GAWL, GCWL, then we could avoid all of these debates.
Look at your tire sidewall it plainly states "Max Load X at X inflation". To me that is black, and white, no grey area there.
