- BumpyroadExplorerI don't remember ever seeing a TC that wasn't white (ish).???????
bumpy - SidecarFlipExplorer IIII wrote a comment to Angela about it. When I bought mine I wanted to contrast my white truck with the camper, so my camper is not white, it's grey with black graphics (my truck has a black pinstripe and out farm name is in black lettering on both side doors).
My personal feeling is a red body camper is a bit obtuse but if that floats your boat, so be it.
I find white TC's to be dull, just me I guess. but red, no way. There is another custom builder out of Texas that builds them in various colors but I cannot think of the name..... Just came to me... Capri Campers. - ardvarkExplorerFrom reading the article, I think it will be offered in more than one color and I like the change. I don't know how colors will sell, but they sure are popular in other types of RVs (although the really bright colors historically have not done well). It's just nice to see manufacturers try new things.
- SidecarFlipExplorer IIIFull body paint and graphics on large size motorhomes often looks nice but I've seen some that are way overdone too.
Not sure that would look good on a TC in as much as there is still a truck underneath. Now, a complimentary color or contrasting looks good, but gaudy, probably not. - burningmanExplorer IIThat camper would look great on a red truck (of course) and may actually look less garish than a white one because it’s body color, it blends in. I think it’ll look cleaner and slicker than most.
Color-matching is cool. The only downside I see is resale, if you’re worried about that.
White campers go with any truck, which is why they make sense to build and sell.
I hate that mine is sorta tan color. If I didn’t usually take it somewhere where it gets so dusty and dirty outside that it’d be that color anyway, I’d paint it to match my truck... which happens to be white... - monkey44Nomad III believe it was Northern Lite, or maybe Bigfoot that had a Gray/Silver with black highlights option for awhile ... not sure how well it sold, or if it's still an option. Looked pretty nice on gray, white, or black trucks, but not so much on other colors, like the red, blue, or brown shades.
- OasisbobExplorerOffering colors is a dealer nightmare as folks always want what is out of stock and cannot sell some colors. Personally I love seeing something other than white. Shasta, Winnebego offer other than white & gray. seeing white reminds me of styrafoam coolers in a row. LOL
- jimh406Explorer IIIHost offered a wrapped TC years ago. More recently Livin Lite has. It’s not news, but who reads Truck Camper magazine for breaking news?
I bet most news will be here before they publish. - Grit_dogNavigatorThat's ok Robert. A lot of things you produce make some of us scratch our heads too! Lol
IMO, it's about time mfgs start producing TCs that aren't "camper white". There are a few, but more the merrier.
If I had the time, I'd wrap our camper to match or compliment the truck as well as cover the ghost stripes from the crusty old decals that need to come off and the oxidized front cap that's looking a little faded.
Other side of the coin, white universally doesn't clash with other colors and is the coolest color in the hot sun. - SidecarFlipExplorer IIII can see that with production units (color issues) but Four Wheel Campers are basically custom ordered units and the ones that aren't are white... I believe the same applies to Capri. All their units are built to specification.
Big issue I see (with a custom color) is paint match down the road. I read about that (on here and elsewhere) with full body paint motor homes.
