I guess when you come from a 6.0 or 6.4 PSD, 100k without a major repair is a milestone.
That isn't even much of a milestone for gas motor since the 90's.
I agree about the gas motor making it easily to 100k miles, but a DPF equipped diesel, EGR and not even a CEL I thought was pretty good. A cummins of the same year at 65k miles requires the turbo, EGR valve, EGR cooler a trip to the shop for service.
At 100k miles my 6.0PSD had the EGR valve and the HAC tube replaced and a set of batteries.
When I sold it at ~170k miles I had to clean the EGR valve and replaced the batteries several times and a serpentine belt. It did like to eat batteries. And yes coming from a 6.0PSD was a good experience.- Grit_dogNavigator II

I haven't had one CEL and no repairs to date.
Are you saying your PSD making it to 100k is an accomplishment?
I would say its a good milestone being that it hasn't had a repair to date. The only items replaced on my truck is wiper blades, batteries, tires, and the third brake light.
Again I'm certain the Duramax and Power Strokes will last hundreds of thousands of miles and the owners can claim "Towing just got easier". :W
But those darn Cummins won't! They be spittin head gaskets just driving to the corner store! Long live the Powerstroke! - Me_AgainExplorer III

Does anyone really believe that Fish would come back and tell us that at some point he had to have major work done? I don't. When you spout you're mouth off continuously raving about something you own as being way better than everyone else's, it's hard to eat crow when something does happen.
^^^^ What he said!
To top that all off he continues to attack the other trucks in the market place, and has not owned one particular model past a 2006. Still beating his drum about a 10 or 11 year model experience. Oh, and he brought is used after it had been ridden hard and put away wet. - coolbreeze01ExplorerWhat gear is M?

All 3 diesels within spittin' distance from each other. IMO, these numbers are getting ridiculas along w/ towing capacity. Probly cheaper to a MD truck that has bigger brakes and HD frame compared to a 3/4-1t truck.
- goducks10ExplorerI just got back from a 1200 mile trip towing my 5th wheel with my 12 Ram 2500 CTD. I had plenty of HP/TQ to keep up with the rest of the people towing in CA. I had plenty of power to pass when needed. I had plenty of power to set the cruise to what ever speed I wanted when running the freeways or long stretches of hwy.
To say stupid stuff like "Towing just got easier" or whatever brand "just got left behind" is child like. Even if I had less HP/TQ I still would've had no trouble keeping up with all the other RV'ers out towing.
In the real world all that power really is meaningless. If you need to buy the biggest baddest truck to make yourself feel better then you really need some therapy.
