Pretty neat idea. Depending on how it works. If it is actually a digital scale that you can push a button and set to zero every now and then, zero being stock truck from factory, that could work. If it is a sliding resistor based on suspension travel, as the suspension wears out you will already be carrying a load before you put anything in the bed. But then again that could be a good thing matching the load to the weaker suspension.
