Your description of the truck feeling heavy sums it up pretty accurately. I can't wait to get it done. Since they're tuning it for towing on 87 octane gas, it'll be more torque oriented than performance. The alternative would be to tune it to performance on 87 octane but then I'd have to burn 91 under towing conditions to keep it from pinging. Some of the parts of Texas I travel are $3.25 for the 87 octane so I'll probably go with the towing tune so I won't be burning $4/gallon gas when I'm hooked up.

Glad to hear the progress ! Yes the tune should correct the slouch auto shifts and throttle response. The factory program which causes that is called TQ management, which is there for a good reason. Reduce that with a tune and you will notice a huge difference on the way it performs. Now you want some left in there and it should be for protection of the drive train. I think mines reduced by 75 percent if not a little more. But I don't drive it hard at all. I will tell you that it acts like night and day difference with my tune. The truck felt like it was heavy, but now feels like it's light on the feet and always ready to drop a gear at a slight touch of the pedal unlike before it basically required mashing it. Funny but my truck shifts better now then ever. Second to 3rd gear would feel weird and lag, now it slides quickly and no hesitation. I hope you experience the same, tuning is good to an extent as long as it's done within a safe parameter. Keep us in the loop!
