For what I do, I don't run syn in my diff. A top fuel rear end builder that built one of my drag rear ends said never put syn in it when drag racing.
I though that was weird? Why I asked? He said syn can't stand up to the shock loading that regular old dino oil can. Still sounded weird so I did some more digging.
Come to find out he was correct. Apples and oranges? Yep sure is.
Same with breaking in a solid cam. The cam maker said NEVER break in their cam with syn. Sure enough, they were correct.
Why my story? It's for all of those people that say syn can never hurt and always helps. Aaaaaaaaaaa no, that isn't the case sometimes.
