It is my understanding the GY looked at the TT industry and developed a TT tire with, higher rated speed, improved rubber compounds, improved towing tread design etc. etc.
Most would agree an improved ST tire was long overdue and it is interesting to note that for now the production is in the US.
The tire does command a premium price and is featured by some TT manufacturers.
