Ford used 2 engines in 2003, early models had a 7.3 and was an excellent engine, while later models had a 6.0 which was the worst engine every used in a Ford. If it is the 6.0, run as fast as you can. They did improve the 6.0, but not for a couple years, with the 2003/2004/2005 being the worst of the worst.
2003 Ex Cab trucks with the 7.3 and in EXCELLENT condition will still command $15K to $20+K, depending on mileage and trim level. 2003 6.0 trucks will not fetch $10K on any market for any trim level.
