that powerstroke help guy is nuts. He has some, very few, good ideas. Check out Bullitproof's site & you'll see what I'm talking about
826lynx is correct on the things he said. Heat is a problem but there are so many redundent systems on the 6.0 you have to make the changes or you will eventually be on a rolloff and spending anothet $10K. Head gaskets will blow sooner or later with or without heat. 1 less headbolt than a 7.3. There's a long list of things to make one pass a 6.0 by. Especially if you ever mod it.
Soe have changed the oem egr valve 2 and 3 times. Egr coolers etc
One of my best friends lost the cooler on his, oil temps went to 295 and the pcm went into limp mode. This with a 35' touhauler on a 9 mile 6/7% pull. I waited on him and limped into camp. No fun. $8K later his truck runs fine.
