Just got back from looking at the truck and trailer. The trailer looks great, my thought is that 24,000 is a good price with the 5500 generator. I'm thinking he will take 20,000 because he said or best offer.
The truck turned out to be a 2002 with a 7.3. He is asking $15,000. It's a two wheel drive, and I want a 4x4.
So, here's my next question. I want a 4x4 that will tow the trailer above, the owner said it weight is approximately 13,000.
What is a good used tow vehicle? I don't want to spend over $20K. Is that a reasonable amount of money to get a long lasting diesel truck?
I tow that heavy with my F350 7.3. Good eng for sure. Be cautious on the 02 they have pmr rods unlike the 99-early01 which have forged rods But if you don't get crazy with mods it will be a good tow machine. A ported housing helps those quite a bit with a mild custom tune it's safe and you'll be happy with a trailer of the wgt range. But if you need 4x4 then it doesn't matter on this truck. Try to find a 1T you will be happier and have a better towing experience.
