6.0 was in Ford's from late 2002 (model year 2003) trucks until 2007 model year.
The Duramax which is a 6.6 liter engine came out in 2001 and has gone through various generations for Chevy. Click Here for more info
There is lots of info on the 6.0 and you can go nuts trying to understand it all but basically the 6.0 became a much more stable in the 05-07 range. There were some design changes to the Turbo / Cooling system which made a huge difference for the good.

Early 03's were 7.3's 6.0's came mid year.
