- monkey44Nomad III've never been charged for photo toll when carrying the camper. Probably can't read it, and doesn't happen enough for the Toll Guys to care. Would be expensive to fix, and reset all cameras for a few campers they'd get toll.
Maybe they don't want tolls to cut into our vacation bucks. :) - NRALIFRExplorer

How does it work when the camera cannot see your tag under the camper?
Well, the one experience I had with that situation (unintentionally, I’ll add) I’d say that’s a scenario the system designers either didn’t anticipate, or don’t care enough about to fix.
What I was expecting was to get a bill in the mail for the toll, plus a service charge.
What happened was……..nothing. :S
:):) - dhullExplorer IIOhio did away with the front plate this year. I transferred mine to camper!
- miltvillExplorer IIFlorida only has one plate and it must be attached to the rear of the vehicle and visible at all times. On a big rig the plate is on the front of the truck with no plate on the rear of the truck. The traffic cameras must be able to read your plate.

Reading this thread, I was thinking great, just leave my tag on my Truck and never again drive it without a tag (like I seem to do often). Then I read one post about toll cameras.

Seriously, I believe that they take pictures front and back as you go through the toll arch. They have to deal with tractor trailers, where the trailer plate does not necessarily belong to the driver, so the only way to get a plate number is the front of the vehicle.
If you've got a front hitch with a bunch of junk on a carrier, I suppose they just default back to pulling you over and giving you a good beatdown... - SoonDockinExplorer IIReading this thread, I was thinking great, just leave my tag on my Truck and never again drive it without a tag (like I seem to do often). - ranholagoExplorerJust getting back to this thread... The CHP officer was very non specific about any part of the question that I posed to her. Basically I got the feeling that she really didn't know the "Answer" and giving me the "its a reason to pull you over" sounded like a "go to " response. I have always believed if ANY LEO wanted to pull you over, there are probably a 100 reasons, and the whole license plate thing is just reason 101. I just make it a practice to cover my bases and not give any LEO an obvious reason to pull me over. I have been taught over my MANY years respect the badge and its authority. I don't go out of. my way to draw attention to my self in respect to LEO. I get that their job is not one I would like or even equipped to do, and my hat is off to the 99% but I have met one or two who take their authority to the next level.
