I would not let it bother me since they are not going to have this pump unless the issues were resolved. Yes it has been very quiet for a while with Ford pump stories.
Yet, you last February:Now as mentioned ya may want to look at trucks from the last 5 model years. IMHO the RAM trucks have proven to be very dependable with their electronics and drivetrains. Also they have the gold standard Bosch CP3 injection pump. GM and Ford used the CP4, GM gave up on that with so many warranty claims they now use the Denso pump.
Seems odd that the CP4 is suddenly fine in your opinion because Ram is using it now. I think it's still a steaming pile of ****, FWIW. Even if they've gotten somewhat more reliable in newer iterations, they still grenade the fuel system when they fail which makes it a much more significant fix compared to a failed CP3 unit. It's just a bad design, end of story. - rhagfoExplorer III

I am more than happy with the mirrors. Two RAM's with them and they are rock solid.
YUP fuel tank sure could have been bigger. So far I like the grill on my LongHorn MUCH better but it's still better than the other two.
Molded hips are VERY SEXY and again much better than the other two. One looks like it could not make up it's mind and placed two sets of hips on it.
Like mentioned the CP4 has not been mentioned for a while so I would assume it's been performing well. The RAM's have an excellent filtration system so there should be zero excuse for and issues. 5 years and 100K to decide if it's ok or not!
X2!
The Ram 3500 DRW, looks like it was intended to be DRW, not a 3500 SRW stick on fender additions to accommodate the extra wheels. Smooth and more aerodynamic then the stick on!
Even older Ram DRW with the stick on fender extensions were more aerodynamic than others.
Example DD's 2004 Ram DRW. - ShinerBockExplorerSpeaking of fuel tanks.
When my father tows his 10k RV from La Vernia, Tx to Rockport with his 2003 F350 7.3L with a 38 gallon tank, starting with a full tank he generally has to stop for fuel on the way down every time. His always shows a little under a half a tank by the time he gets down there.
He used my truck to pull it down there a few times(his was in the shop) and my 31 gallon tank was a little over half full when he got down there both times. Don't need that big of a tank if you don't use that much fuel. - Cummins12V98Explorer IIII am more than happy with the mirrors. Two RAM's with them and they are rock solid.

Either way, looking at this truck has me thinking... When it's time to get the new ride, I will have to take one of these for ride to see.. They look VERY IMPRESSIVE..
my only dislikes ( at this point )
- the smaller fuel tank
- still not a huge fan of the mirrors
** AND -
- the front end is a huge improvement
- the molded hips are tolerable... :B
wonder if there is already a ram truck guy on here ?? :B - LearjetExplorerLooks like a different fuel filter by the rear axle and fuel tank. No more spin on?

OK Cummins12V98, what's you going to do? We will have to go to pizza again if you get one of these!
But it now has a cp4 pump and it doesn't have this manically emissions system that the Cummings woman was blowing kisses in his ear that we've been hearing about for the last year on this forum
Hmm, I haven't read the 2019 6.7L will have a CP4. I knew removing the EGR wasn't going to happen in the US though. For Global markets yes, but not for our strict NOx requirements.
Removing DEF??? Yeah for sure and a little green man landed in my backyard
?Huh? I didn't say remove DEF. I said remove the EGR. Cummins has done this with many of their global engines since global NOx regulations are less stringent than the US. - alexleblancExplorer

Would you rather have an "all new CP-5" or a revised and improved CP-4? Surely Bosch has learned a thing or 2 about their pumps in the last several years. If not, I'll be the first to come here and whine that my beautiful new truck left me stranded. ;) BTW, the Ford forums are pretty quiet about failures in the last few years since the pump was changed.
One of the things about the CP4-2 is/was the fuel supplied to it. In North America the fuel does not meet the Bosch requirement. On top of that Ford did not do a good job on detecting water in the fuel.
The CP4-2 seems to be pretty much trouble free in this generation of super duties, haven’t read about fairlures yet on all the forums I visit. Must of improved the filtration system too, I know the filter setup is much different on my current truck compared to my previous 13. - NRALIFRExplorer

He said “removing EGR”, Exhaust Gas Recirculation. A press release put out by Cummins stated they were developing an engine that would no longer need EGR to meet pollution requirements. It would all be done in the exhaust system. They would still use DEF.
I hope we see this in the US someday soon. EGR is the Achilles heel of modern Diesel engines.
