PS, you can get a lock pick and put cameras anywhere you want and have it on your factory 8.4 screen but I'm sure you already knew that.:)
I have read a bit about the lock pick stuff. Would a V-box mounted camera have the yellow lines and move with the truck turning like the OEM ParkView? It would be nice to be able to place a camera mounted on the front box pointed right at the 5th wheel hitch, as RAM bed view one sucks, and screws up and moves the park view to the same rear view mirror screen. I hear in 2016 the driver will be able to move those around. Lock Pick seems like a better deal!!!

Why do you want to replace the camera for?
So I can remove the tailgate and run just with the V-Box out back like the picture of our 2001.5. Ease of hooking up and unhooking.
Chris
Oh, I understand now. What about this?
Fifth Wheel Gate
Why would want or need a gate, the V-Box does that plus holds our golf clubs. Chris
Sorry for trying to help. It looks like you and the long bed king have it all figured out.

Don't the new Rams have the backup camera in the center brake light? It's going to be a cool setup Chris.
That is the cargo camera location.
Which is an option. On 2015's it screws up the park view camera moving it the the mirror.

- Cummins12V98Explorer IIII think we need to go to dinner and let your wife drive my truck this time. Get her convinced a long bed is not that much trouble and then you can forget about all these issues!
- Me_AgainExplorer IIISo now I am looking at another hitch. Curt makes a puck adapter for the RAM factory 5th wheel setup.I found a very attractive price on the E16 sliding bar head with their R16 slider. So the the whole hitch is $857.
This setup is more compact than the B&W RVK3270 and handles go out drivers side and will not be a problem with bed box.
I have been in love with our Hijacker sliding bar hitch since 1997. So another sliding bar is attractive to me.
Current 5er is 12,400, and anything new we get would be around 14,500. Chris - Me_AgainExplorer III

I think I have decided on the B&W RVK3270 manual slider and the Reese picture frame. I will rig the V-Box attached to slider with Nylon slides on the bottom of the box so it will slide out onto the tail gate. And then hope I can cobble the large Truck Trunk in ahead of the hitch. Chris
Just to be sure I am understanding this; you are thinking of rigging the rear box to slide out over the tailgate to allow the sliding hitch to slide to the rear "maneuvering position"? If so, will you be able to back your trailer in with the tailgate down and the box moved over it? I'm pretty sure my tailgate would go through the front of the trailer if it was down while I was in a sharp enough turn to need the hitch slid back.
If I'm missing your thought please let me know; we are here to help you with this one :B
Yes and No, I can have the tailgate down now and still have a lot of room to the trailer. Even turning would not run it into the front of the trailer. And my long box has more over hang behind the axle than a new short box truck.
The B&W guy did warn me about going to the rear position with the tailgate up, saying the pin box might hit the tailgate.
