We did the same thing and have no regrets. We went from a 32ft 5th wheel to a TT close to yours except it has a kitchen slide (Rockwood 2304DS)and find it a lot easier. Plus as a bonus it is easier to find camping spots both in campgrounds and when boondocking. We did remove the dinette and install 2 recliners now it is just like home.
