Jefe - I sure can't argue with you, some guys are never satisfied, I am just hoping I have this all figured out by the time I retire, LOL!

Mark, congrats and....I see a pattern here. Buy a too lightweight truck and try to put a too heavy camper on it. Sell the truck. Buy a new slightly less lightweight truck and try to make that work with al lot of suspension help. Fall in love with a bigger camper. Dump the too heavy camper and install the new Love Boat on your too lightweight truck. Sell the too lightweight truck and get a slightly more heavy duty truck. On and on it goes until you get to a 3500 with a 5299 pound capacity weight rating. Now we're talking' but so many of us go through the steps above before settling in with a marriage of truck and camper that is not overloaded.

Nice looking truck and shiny too. Now you have some pictures to know what colour your truck is after coating it with bugs and mud next year in Alaska.
There were times this year when we were in Alaska, Yukon and Northwest Territories when I thought my truck was mud coloured, and not black!
Dually worked well on all the roads and byways up there.
3 months, almost enough time! We were gone 4 months but we also travelled through the Yukon and Northwest Territories, and I now know why so many in these forums go back for more. Make sure you get the Alaska tour saver book.(Check the threads in the Alaska and Canada section) We certainly used it and it gives you some great ideas of places to go and see and do.

Very nice truck. I do like the way Ram integrates the dual rears into the body. Much more aerodynamic than Ford or GM. And these props from a Ford guy!:R

My truck is a megacab shortbed. I couldn't get that color combo as a Laramie Longhorn so I had to order as a Laramie and had the dealer paint the bumpers to match the lower color.

Well that made my day, the slip in my glove compartment reads that my cargo weight rating with a camper is 4,343 lbs, so I lost almost a 1,000 lbs from the payload capacity on the door. Oh well, I know this dually will still work better than the SRW.

Nice Ram truck. You should have no trouble with a TC on that truck. My friend has a 2015 Chev 1 ton DRW (Chev axles are 500 pounds lighter than Ram)with the biggest Lance camper on the truck. He just finished driving from California to New York then to Florida and back with no problem.
