Thanks for the details. I've lost track of all the numbers. Overall it's safe to say that a little extra wiggle room couldn't hurt. Ive decided to bump up to the E's.

3 questions -
1. What is your Expedition rated to tow (pounds) vs GVWR weight of your trailer ?
2. What is the GVWR of the Expedition ?
3. What Load Range are the OEM tires ?
Supposedly, the vehicle (with OEM tires) should handle the OEM tow rating if you are within the vehicle GVWR (including the 6 people + all your other stuff in the vehicle + tongue weight of the trailer). If at all close to maxing out the tire load range, then move up. I like a good safetly level.
You could weigh the Expedition (full fuel) with everyone on board, add xx pounds for additional 'stuff', then add tongue weight of the LOADED (GVWR) trailer. Compare that number to the vehicle GVWR. That would be a starting point.
Remember that dry weight of the trailer is not the number to use. You should always use GVWR because you will most likely have it loaded up, especially on a long trip.
