New Truck and Camper

I've ordered my new F450 and a Host Everest. The truck is expected between January and March. The camper is coming in June.

While I'm waiting, I'm going to be setting up for storage and such.
Does anyone know the bed height empty and with a heavy camper loaded up?

I can't wait, but I'll have to.

  • Mike/Kellie: Thanks for the tip about contacting host to see if there are any changes early in the year. I'm not trying to fit it under any particular structure, just want to make sure it's going to be under 14' with the A/C.

NRALIFR: Thanks. In addition to bridges, powerlines, etc., my driveway is sloped making the loading and unloading process challenging. On my 2001 Lance 961, the camper would still be sitting on the back end of the bed with the front jacks fully extended and the camper level. I would have to run the front tires up on ramps to bring the tail down enough to clear.
For the new camper, I'll either setup a small trailer or a dolly to move it from the street to the driveway (about 30' total distance), or a new set of ramps.
  • The specs page for the 2022 Super Duty pickups includes the line “Open tailgate to ground” for each model. For example, a crew cab, 8 ft box, 4x4 has a 37.5” height from the ground to the open tailgate.

  • Keep communicating with your camper dealer, especially early next year. Host typically introduces changes if any during this time.
In regards to your before and after height question.....are you trying to fit your combo under a structure?
