In Canada you pay about $70k CAD for a new loaded King Ranch. A 5 year old King Ranch with 96,000 miles and in near perfect condition can be bought for 39k CAD. By the time the 5 yr old truck is 10 years old it is likely not going to be worth more than about 15k. Likeley need to spend a little on repairs from year 5 through ten, so whether you buy new or used doesn't make a whole lot of difference one way vs the other. In 1975 you could buy a plain Jane 2wd single cab pick up for $5k or 20 Acres of farm land. Now 20 Acres of farm land is worth $100,000 so I think trucks are getting cheaper.
