Today, I spied a brand new Ford F-150 Eco Boost 4 door for sale at Costco. The MSRP was $56,000. WOW! I didn't realize the costs had risen that much since I shopped in 2010. I can picture myself in my Mexican built Ram for many, many more years. I had no idea that aluminuium/alunimium/ er, beer can bodies cost so much.
O.K. I'm going to stand aside so I don't get injured by Ford owners.
Hey that "EGO BOOST" label does not come free! If you step up to a HD Ford with Diesel be aware the engine is Made in MEXICO.
*Correction, Assembled in Mexico. Just like the Ram isn't made in Mexico, it is assembled in Mexico.
I would like some proof of that since Fish has never corrected me when I say the engine is Made in Mexico. It really does not matter is just a truth in posting that I like to throw back at the Fish.
cummins,
Yes it does matter.... Watch a few minutes of this video and perhaps you may understand! "Made in the USA" means a lot to some people... Perhaps that doesn't include you!
KTP Truck Plant Expansion
KTP
Please DON'T quote me out of context!!! I am more buy American than 90+% of this country.
Fact is you keep side stepping that your PS engine is Made in Mexico. I acknowledge my Truck is "Assembled in Mexico" with mostly US made parts. YES I would prefer it were "Assembled" in USA like my 98 RAM was but the two alternatives just don't stack up for my needs.
So I ask you the FISH to clarify if the Ford diesel is "Assembled" or "Made" in Mexico as I have read that it is.
Ok cummins lets get to the bottom of this discussion. Yes my engine is "Mad in Mexico" from parts made in the US and Yes your Truck is "Made in Mexico" from parts made in the US and other countries. Any yes your cummins engine is "Made in the USA" but the engine block is made in Mexico. No surprises here.... But the big difference is the number of Americans who build these products vs foreign labor and a truck assembly plant employees a lot more employees than say an engine plant that consists of a lot of automation. Also another big difference is the truck that sits in my garage is an "American Company" Ford Motor Company in which a lot of the Ford family still runs the business and your's is a "Foreign Company" aka FCA - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Spin it however your want cummins (Assembled vs Made) but this is nothing to be proud of.
