Well guys, I should have bought a super duty from the word go, in one word : awesome!
I towed the same route as I did two weeks ago with the F150 ecoboost. The truck only went into 5th gear on two hills and I averages 10.1 mpg where I got 6.9 with the f150. It was beyond stable and comfortable, imagine with the propride 3p next summer!
Most who go from a adequate 1/2 ton to a more capable 3/4 ton TV have your same experience.
It's the same old story of priorities. Do you want a totally capable tow vehicle or do you want soft riding daily driver.
The ironic part is it's seldom about cost or money but more about preferences and expectations.
Ultimately getting it right the first time is really the key to spending wisely
Lucky for me it's not the daily driver, we've got the Focus and Mustang for that.
Sounds great. Your fortunate in that you can have a dedicated tow vehicle. Not everyone has that luxury. Many use their DD as there TV. I have done it both ways. Depending on how much and how far you tow it can be hard to justify having a dedicated TV. But than again justify to who is the question!:B LOL
I prefer a fully capable TV even if I have to make sacrifices on the daily driver end. I don't mind a truck like ride and do not need a softer 1/2 ton suspension.
Your new truck is a way more capable TV vs. your old Eco boost. Enjoy it.
